1940s Lone Star from Humble Quilts

One of the last quilts I opened from the estate was this beauty! It has been well loved.

Lovely hand quilting

I'm assuming it is from the 1940's.

The biggest problem with this quilt is the binding is pretty much non existent. It was the color of the final blue tip. I think I'll see if I have a solid blue similar, replace it and keep this one. At least for awhile.

New England Quilt Museum part 3 from Humble Quilts

Here are some of my favorites that were on display. These are part of the NEQM collection.

This quilt was huge and hard to photograph.

Keep an eye on the sashing of this quilt.

The quilt Laura holds (on the right) was the little quilt she made for me for the Humble Quilt swap!

And here it is up close and personal. I LOVE it and treasure it!

Old Quilt From Maine from Humble Quilts

It's not in great shape but has some wonderful fabric and an interesting "batting".

An interesting Japanese lantern?

I squealed when I saw this print!

Just this one 4 patch with George Washington print.

Here is a reproduction of that same print.

This backing is so delicate looking.

It does have some stains. The width of the backing is 35".

The inside layer, which we would put cotton batting, is this piece of fabric!

I've never seen that before. The quilt measures82"x77" so that "batting" is that large as well. Anybody ...

One Old Worn Out Quilt from Humble Quilts

Recently we went to a Living Celebration of Life for my Brother in Law. What a concept! I loved it. We went back up the following week and spent some time with my sister and brother in law. Make sure you let people know how important they are to you.

My sister in law has been forced to think about the "stuff" she will have after he passes.

Antique Quilts For Sale at IQF from Humble Quilts

I never tire of seeing antique quilts! These were all for sale at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Enjoy the eye candy!

Aurora Part 2- Antique Quilts from Humble Quilts

These are some older quilts from the Aurora Quilt Show. Many belong to the historical society and were part of the Aurora Colony.

This is a cute setting using vintage blocks.

I can't say I've ever noticed that the applique was pulled into the seam! I've seen this quilt many times over the years.

European Patchwork Vacation Part Two (Repost) from Humble Quilts

Winterset, Iowa Quilt Museum Photo Heavy! from Humble Quilts

The Iowa Quilt Museum is in Winterset, Iowa. I think this was one of my favorite towns that we visited! The women at the museum were unbelievably friendly and in general everyone in town was pretty pleasant. (we also picked up a couple of cute pieces of clothing and Laurie bought an antique quilt!)

But for the special exhibit at the museum was HOUSES!

A celebration of house quilts! WOW! Each one unique and so wonderful!

Ohio's Miami Valley Quilts in the Museum (Photo heavy!) from Humble Quilts

Because I made this quilt in 2016 I was really looking forward to seeing the exhibit of Ohio's Miami Valley quilts at the International Quilt Museum!

Sue Cummings book does not have patterns but inspiration.

Anita Shackelford does have patterns in her booklet.

1864 Quilt from Humble Quilts

At the quilt show I vended at earlier this year I met a woman who wanted to sell a quilt. She shared a few photos from her phone and told her I'd be back in the area to teach later in the year. A sweet online friend, Julie, sent me this adorable little quilt top! She saw it at an antique shop and thought of me! Oh my goodness, that touches my heart! Thank you Julie!

The blocks are handpieced. Look at this wonderful print!
